NEW PHRENOLOGY: MANIFESTO NEW PHRENOLOGY: MANIFESTO

Phrenology in a nutshell: the idea that bumps on the skull predict mental traits. Invented by Franz Joseph Gall  in the late 18th century after believing in a connection between a classmate's odd shaped skull and his advantage language abilities. The practice always lacked of methodological rigour, it’s now absolutely rejected and recognized as a pseudoscience.

NEW PHRENOLOGY: MANIFESTO

1. No one other than yourself decides the meaning of the shape your head. You decide what to put in it, from ideas to ornaments.

2. Creating is our purpose and veils our instrument of rebellion against false outdated believes about love and marriage.

3. We believe marriage should mean whatever the people involved want it to mean and only that.

4. We reject the idea of a dichotomy between tradition and modernism and embrace the tension between tradition and freedom.

5. There is beauty in tradition and we honour it. A veil is a beautiful object and needs no tradition to be meaningful. Its meaning it's given only by the person who wears it.

6. We experience tradition as a dynamic pursuit. Only able to exist through change and renewal.

7. We practice veils as a tool of authenticity and expressiveness.

8. We vow to keep creating veils as modern rituals of self expression, celebrating a fearless freedom to exist truthfully.
